Katharine was born and raised in Omaha, NE. She graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a degree in Hospitality Management. Who would have thought she was an Event Coordinator in her past life? Katharine made the career switch to personal training in 2017 and never looked back.
Katharine has been all over the board with her own personal workouts – starting as a cardio queen in college, to gainz city gym bruh, to now a hybrid gal. Through these experiences, she has gained a lot of knowledge of strength training, endurance training, and fueling in addition to her formal education. Katharine is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer, UESCA Certified Running Coach, and Precision Nutrition Level 1 Coach. She also dabbled as a Certified Group Fitness Instructor early in her training career.
Once she became a Certified Personal Trainer, she started working at a big box gym in Omaha. After a couple years, Katharine moved to Denver, CO to be closer to the mountains and further enjoy her outdoor hobbies of hiking, trail running, camping, snowboarding, and climbing.
While gaining more experience as a trainer, she found her love of strength training for hikers and trail runners over the last couple years. She sees an opportunity for outdoor enthusiasts to enhance their skills both on and off the trail by adding consistent strength training. Last year, Katharine ran the Rim-to-Rim Trail in the Grand Canyon (25 miles with 5,000’ of gain) to push her body and put her strength and endurance running training to the test. And, no, she won’t stop talking about it.
Katharine is a big believer in fueling your body for your life and activities.
When Katharine isn’t at the studio, you can find her lifting, hiking, trail running, hangin’ with her doggo, Zulu, spending time with her boyfriend, or baking cookies.
